About

I’m Pratibha.

Like every other person on this planet, the coronavirus pandemic wrecked me. I lost my dream, had to move in with my parents and search for a job that had zero prospects in my country.

Most of my 2021 went in picking up the pieces of my crumbling self. As I grieved, I abandoned the very thing that gave me a sense of simmering joy — writing. I was afraid of picking up the pen again because I know words can either make or break you.

Alas, I’m tired of living in fear and using it as an excuse for not moving forward. So, I wield my pen again.

My words may be clumsy, imperfect, and long-winded at times. Some words might not conform to your journalistic standards, but I will plough on since I have been quiet for far too long.

My background

I currently work as an editorial assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

I previously worked as a content creator at Clinikk, a healthcare startup. I have interned at STAT News, Harvard Medicine Magazine, New England Aquarium, and Boston University News Service.

I have a master’s degree in science journalism; a master’s degree in biochemistry, and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology. (Yes, you read that right — three degrees)

I love reading (duh), listening to music, and doing yoga.
